I am Parkel Chikoja, an innovator who was based in Zomba but recently just relocated to Lilongwe. I am thankful to the Department of Innovation and Creativity (DIC) for supporting me and two other innovators, Jeremiah Kalinda and Zac Mwale to manufacture a mini tractor. The experience has boosted my confidence since its not easy to recognized by government let alone work with them. For sometimes, I have been doing quad bikes so this have added to my experience since it’s the first time to do a mini tractor. The gesture by DIC is boost to the local innovation industry.
Hello, Am Zack Caleb Mwale, an innovator based in Lilongwe. I would like to acknowledge the support I got from the Department of Innovation and Creativity to be a part of a team involved in the production of a mini tractor. I was tasked to work on the electronics and programming of the mini tractor including safety features. I value the experience of working with government and also other local innovators to come up with such an innovation, since this promises a better Malawi where we can be self-reliant through production of machines required for various economic uses.
I am Jeremiah Francis Kalinda, an innovator based in Lilongwe and one of the recipients of financial support from the Department of Innovation and Creativity (DIC) under Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC). After hearing about my innovation, a motor vehicle, officials from the department came to see me and I told them I had challenges to finish off the car because it was self-sponsored. They promised to help me and like a dream, they indeed gave me financial support, which I am using to upholster the car interiors and body painting. This is encouraging for local innovators and am grateful to DIC and government for the support.
