Different players in the innovation sector are doing a commendable job to enhance the use of innovation and creativity in service delivery. However with the absence of the innovation policy, an Act, innovation strategy and a National innovation framework, such efforts were either duplicated or disjointed. The department has a line-up of programs and initiatives that aims at consolidating such efforts and champion co-existence and networking between the key players in the industry.
Innovation Tracking, Monitoring and Evaluation
The department has programmes that facilitates the smooth operations of innovations and creativity at all levels of the society from scouting, evaluation, categorisation, quality assurance, scalling up and commercialisation.
Patenting and Intellectual Property Facilitation
We understand that most innovators don't have the capacity to facilitate patenting and intellectual property processes on their own, hence the department in conjuction with the office of the Registrar General facilitates such processes.
Technical and Financial Support.
We are committed to identifying, nurturing and mentoring creativity and innovation. We thrive to provide quality assurance services, financial literacy and sourcing of funds for innovative solutions that have a direct impact on the household level, community level and national level.
